Making Cabinet Doors

In this class, the tools and techniques necessary to build and install cabinet doors will be covered, The topics covered will include:

  • Door Styles – overlay, half overlay etc
  • Door Panels – designing and constructing (includes frame & panel)
  • Door Joinery – including cope and stick, mortise & Tenon
  • Selecting and Installing Hinges
  • Selecting and Installing Handles, Catches, & Locks

Students will work on sample work in combination with lecture and demonstration, however as door making and installation is an advanced topic we request that you have some previous knowledge of power and hand tools, design, milling and general cabinet construction.
